East Asian, South Asian, Chinese and Indian Students Report Launch
Free | 12–1pm | 24 June 2021 | Auckland & Online
In another first for the Youth2000 series, we will present findings about the health and wellbeing of East Asian and South Asian students, as well as that of Chinese and Indian students. Our results highlight the importance of disaggregating youth data for Asian students, rather than reporting results for all Asian groups combined. These findings offer a better understanding of the relationships between ethnicity and health, and identify opportunities for interventions.
With Associate Professor Roshini Peiris-John (University of Auckland), Associate Professor Terry Fleming (Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington) and more.
Where: Building 505, Room 007 | Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences | University of Auckland | Park Road | Grafton | Auckland. And live online (details to follow).

About Youth19
The Youth19 Rangatahi Smart Survey is the latest in the Youth2000 series of health & wellbeing surveys. The survey was conducted in 2019 in the Auckland, Northland & Waikato regions by researchers from The University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington, University of Otago & Auckland University of Technology, co-led by Associate Professors Terry Fleming (Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington) and Terryann Clark (Ngāpuhi, The University of Auckland).
Youth19 builds on previous Youth2000 surveys conducted by the Adolescent Health Research Group and includes 7721 year 9–13 students, 92 Alternative Education students & 78 young people who were not in education, training or employment. The survey is a collaboration between two projects funded by the Health Research Council. It combines core Youth2000 questions with a new focus on rangatahi wellbeing and, for the first time, direct access to digital help options for participants. More on our website.
