“Through [the Silver Rose Program] we honor not only
Our Lady of Guadalupe and express the unity of the
[the Knights of Columbus], but we also reaffirm [our]
dedication to the sanctity of human life. It is to the
Blessed Mother that we turn in prayer as we work to
end the Culture of Death that grips our society. As
we think in terms of ‘One Life, One Rose,’ it is most
appropriate that we turn to Our Lady of Guadalupe
who made known her will through Juan Diego and
the miracle of the roses.”

– Past Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson

YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!
Dear parishioners, there has been a lot of confusion lately with tax receipts, donation envelopes and contact information. To save costs, we ask that you pick up your tax receipt, if possible.  There are quite a few left from this year as well as previous years. If not picked up soon, they will be mailed out to the address on file.
There are several people who have started using donation envelopes again after a long time or for the first time, and there are a few of you who have not told us who you are. (#357, 235, 214)
You must write your full name and address, legibly, on the first few envelopes that you use so that we can enter you into our system.  Otherwise, your donation will not be recordedMany people are also not registered with the parish.  This makes contacting people in regards to tax receipts and other issues, extremely difficult. Please also register with the parish so that we have correct contact information on file.  Many people have also moved.
Even if you are an envelope user, or have been coming to this parish for a long time, does not necessarily mean that you are registered.  Please check with the parish if you are not sure if you are registered. Some people have also picked up a new box of envelopes when they already had one issued to them.  Please make sure that you pick up your envelope box with your name on it before you take another new box. There are many boxes still to be picked up.  Please do so at your earliest convenience, or we will re issue them to someone else.  If you no longer want to use envelopes, please let us know. Thank you for your attention to this.

Development and Peace – Caritas Canada is the official international social justice organization of the Catholic Church in Canada.  Social justice is at the core of Catholic teaching.  Last year Development and Peace celebrated 55 years of working in the Global South to reduce poverty, provide emergency aid, and give education and material support.  We work in 30 countries in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.

Over the past year $830,000 has been raised in Canada for our support of the people of Ukraine.  This aid has provided emergency food, water, shelter, medical care and transport to safety for those in war zones.  Our partners in the region are Caritas-Ukraine (an NGO of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine) and Caritas-SPES (an NGO of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine).

In order for us to continue our important work around the world please give generously to Development and Peace during this season of Lent.  Envelopes are at the back of the church or you can donate on line at www.devp.org/give

Please visit our website at www.devp.org for lots more information.
