North West Norfolk News
by James Wild MP

In Parliament this week MPs voted to renew the Coronavirus Act. This legislation provides important powers for our response to Covid-19 but when restricting people’s freedom it is vital that they are subject to increased scrutiny and debate.

So I welcome that the government responded to the concerns that I supported about a lack of scrutiny by committing to ensure that regulations are debated and voted on before coming into effect wherever possible.

Tomorrow marks the start of the National League season and what I hope will be another successful season for King’s Lynn Town FC. Sadly fans aren’t being let into grounds yet. But with a commitment for funding from the government to cover the loss of match day income and the game being televised, this is good news for Lynn and West Norfolk.

As part of the Town Investment Plan for Lynn, your views are needed on walking and cycling. We particularly want to hear from young people and schools about improvements that can be made. Please complete the survey here.

Finally, I want to welcome two new constituents who have moved here from Scotland - Orange and Blue. These male otters now reside at Wild Ken Hill, joining two females as part of the rewilding project I enjoyed visiting recently.

Please do get in touch if I can be of assistance.

Best wishes,

Funding for brand new School of Nursing

This is great news that will kickstart training opportunities for people in West Norfolk and allow QEH to recruitment more staff locally.
