World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day is Sunday, December 1st. To have your organisation’s event added to the list, kindly forward the information to brian@torontohivaidsnetwork.org. This year’s events and notices include:
 
  • CATIE has released World AIDS Day resources 
  • Women Empowering Positive Women (WEPW) Wear RED Scarfs handcrafted by HIV Positive Women
  • Join ACT in honour of World AIDS Day to acknowledge the people and organizations dedicated to preventing HIV, caring for and empowering people living with HIV, and the movement to end new HIV infections in Toronto at the Together Towards Zero Luncheon. on Friday November 29th   11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Location: The Carlu, 444 Yonge Street. Tickets: $125.00 
  • Action Positive - Dr Jean-Philippe Julien viendra nous donner un aperçu de sa recherche scientifique dans le domaine du développement d’un vaccin contre le VIH, ainsi que des stratégies de recherche présentement en cours de développement dans le monde. The Poverty Reduction Strategy Office is excited to share that applications for the second cohort of the Lived Experience Advisory Group are now being accepted. The deadline to apply is November 29th, 2019
   Flu season is here again. The flu vaccine reduces your chance of getting the flu and is available free of charge. It is recommended that everyone get a flu shot. However, certain people are at greater risk of developing complications from the flu and strongly encourage those people to go to their doctor’s office for the flu shot. People at higher risk of developing complications from the flu include children age 6 months to 5 years, adults age 65 and older, pregnant women, and those with a chronic disease. Toronto Public Health flu information

  Webinar, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Infectious Syphilis Surveillance in Canada: 2008-2018 Thursday, November 14, 2019 1:00 pm 
 will be closed on Monday, November 11, to observe Remembrance Day. HALCO will also be closed on Wednesday, November 13 and Thursday, November 14 for staff to attend a legal training conference. Our intake for new immigration/refugee inquiries will be closed from Tuesday, November 5 through Wednesday, November 13, 2019, inclusive. During this closure, anyone calling with a non-emergency immigration/refugee inquiry will be asked to call back on or after Friday, November 15, 2019.  https://www.halco.org/contact-us.

Centre for Spanish-Speaking Peoples a support/social group that we host for Latino (spanish-speaking) GBMSM living with HIV.
The group meet every Friday at 6:00 p.mm on the 120 Carlton office  (second floor suite 201) and we address all the aspects that GBMSM Latinos face when they're newly diagnosed or in general while accessing services, support or primary care attention.
