"Housing for adults with disabilities is a complex issue, but one tremendously important to our OSBI families," explains Mary Lou Michaels, OSBI parent, and Board Chair. Many family caregivers can relate to having this thought once or twice when considering what may or may not be available in terms of housing options for their adult. Conversations about this very topic are taking form across the country to ensure we have safe, affordable, and supportive housing opportunities for people with disabilities, and One Step Beyond is getting in on the action. We urge you to read more on our BLOG and to listen to the recent NPR interview with renowned journalist, Amy Silverman and Mary Lou Micheaels.

Grants for which we are grateful As a nonprofit, we are no strangers to fundraising initiatives, and yet every time a grant is awarded, we are always blown away by the generosity granted to us through this vital community support! These grants, gifts, and donations are what help sustain OSBI to continue providing services that truly are One Step Beyond! The beginning of 2023 has brought with it very appreciated support. OSBI recently received a generous grant from the Diane & Bruce Halle Foundation to support Individual Supported Employment Programs. West Valley Mavericks granted $5,000 to enhance the AZ Music Program. Peninsula Health Care District will support the CA Health and Recreation Program with a $5,000 grant. A generous grant from On Semiconductor for AZ Culinary Programming was received in December. The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation granted funding for the AZ Culinary Program. Last but not least, the OSBI CA Computer Lab will receive a few updates thanks to the Community Foundation of San Carlos!

This year, our goal is to grow this program substantially, because each of these small steps leads to a bigger and bigger impact. Please consider joining this extraordinary group of dedicated supporters. By making a recurring gift of $10, $25, $50, or $100 per month, you can make a big difference in the lives of our participants. Make Me a Recurring Giver
