I’m thrilled! Two weekends ago, I spent the day with my four-year-old granddaughter hanging around the house. We’d gone to Starbucks for a treat, watered the plants, baked cookies, and were watching the Seattle Sounders game when I received the link to watch the live announcement of winners on YouTube for a writing contest.
My latest novel, Stealing Poppies, won 2nd place in the Chesapeake Romance Writers Contest - The Rudy. My granddaughter and I celebrated as I jumped up and down in my kitchen, smiling and hugging my little girl.
As you know, this was the first contest where I was a finalist, and now, I’d won 2nd place! I was smiling from ear to ear and so excited. Just that little bit of encouragement was enough to motivate me.
