In addition to funds for lobbying and political advocacy, we are in the process of preapring a presentation to be used by folks across WA State. This is a follow up to our HB 1336 work. We will be spending a tremendous amount of time creating communications materials that other organizations will utilize. We need volunteers to help with this crucial work.

Need help taking action? Please reach out! Email to connect.

1. Urgent: Tell Governor Inslee we need a new moratorium to protect Washington State renters. Send this letter & tell your housing story, today.

2. Show up to Seattle City Council 9/22 or 9/24 to speak in favor of the Neighborhood Residential name change.

3. Get ready to show solidarity during Seattle's Budget Season with an important launch event on September 25, info TBD.

4. Attend this online event: People Power Washington - Police Accountability and hear from Amy Sunberg.

5. Transportation Choices Coalition has a fundraiser on October 1. (Reminder: NEW LIGHT RAIL, the Northgate Link Extension, opens on October 2nd, with three new stations at Brooklyn, Roosevelt & Northgate!)

7. Support candidates running for office who want to stop the sweeps, tax the rich, defund the police, end apartment bans, and build affordable housing everywhere. There's a critical election in November in Seattle & King County. While we aren't endorsing this year, I'm sure you might guess who we support - there are some stark contrasts in Seattle, in particular! An amazing source of information is the podcast Hacks & Wonks with Crystal Fincher.

Please donate to our Action Fund to move our lobbying and political mobilization work forward. It is a challenge to get grants for this type of effort.

Please pay rent to the Duwamish, take action to defund SPD by at least 50%, and work with folks living outside in your community to make sure they are safe. Seattle Transit Riders Union Solidarity Fund buys propane for neighbors experiencing homelessness.
