You are invited to a Trivia Celebration for Share The Cities Action Fund
Thanks to the leadership of Black Action Coalition, Decriminalize Seattle & the Seattle Solidarity Budget the city council has passed the 2022 budget! What are our wins? Go to for more info! We’re the only city in the US to cut police funding for TWO YEARS in a row! #DefundSPD #SolidarityBudget #SeattleWillThrive Thanks to each of you that emailed, called and gave public comment.
Attend the upcoming workshop on Monday about Housing Insecurity in the Queer Community from Be:Seattle; There's also an amazing fundraiser on December 12 to support their great housing justice work with 2 comedians!
Hang out with the Transit Riders Union! It’s dark. It’s stormy. November’s elections did not go as we hoped & the pandemic lingers on. We’re leaning into the gloom with a gritty-yet-fun (we promise it will be fun!) noir-themed end-of-year online fundraiser, Wed. Dec. 8, 5:30pm. Register now!

Share The Cities & Our Working Groups

Share The Cities is two organizations. Our Community Education work accepts tax deductible donations because of our fiscal sponsor Angels for Angles. Our Action Fund work is led by our great Board of Directors and allows us to mobilize and activate hundreds of people in WA State to take action on a variety of critical issues, like public broadband, digital equity, land use reforms, tenant rights and environmental justice.

Affordable Talaris plans to continue our community engagement, supported by funds from our 501c3 Share The Cities Community Education. We meet twice a month and also communicate in our slack channel #LaurelhurstForAll. Want to join us? Email

Ballard-Interbay Industrial Lands will be supporting the creation of a Public Development Authority for Interbay in the WA State Legislative Session supported by funds from Share The Cities Action Fund. Want to help? Email

Upgrade King County is working on a statewide education and community engagement toolkit. This work is supported by Share The Cities Community Education. We are also working to support Right To Repair legislation in the WA State Legislative Session, with the support from the Action Fund. We meet twice a month and have three slack channels for our website, working group and internet access zine.

Housing Justice, Housing Stability and Ending Apartment Bans
Share The Cities collaborates with many organizations in Seattle to support housing justice, tenant rights and community stability. We also were very active in the Solidarity Budget advocacy with support from the Action Fund.

During the upcoming legislative session we will be championing the work of Sightline, Futurewise, WA Low Income Housing Alliance, 350 WA State, WA Community Alliance, Front & Centered and many more organizations. Because of support from donors for our Action Fund we are able to mobilize hundreds of people through our social media to take action.

Do you have questions, suggestions, want to volunteer or just learn more about any of these efforts? Send us an email to set up a check-in.

  • Follow Share The Cities Community Education on Twitter @ShareTheCities
  • Find the two organizations on Facebook where we often post upcoming events.
  • We hope to have updated calendars up on our websites in 2022 - volunteers needed.

State Legislative Priorities
  • Share The Cities Action Fund will mobilize people to support 3 key campaigns from partner organizations:
  • Share The Cities Action Fund will be tracking tenant rights, housing justice, and climate justice advocacy from many organizations including: WA Low Income Housing Alliance, Housing Development Consortium,Tenants Union of WA State, 350 WA State, WA Community Alliance & many more.
Share The Cities Action Fund is a reliable, trusted partner of many organizations who know that we can mobilize folks to speak up to their elected officials. They also appreciate our ability to do strong education workshops year-round through our Community Education organization.

Our WA State legislative work is supported through donations to our Action Fund. These donations are not tax deductible. In fact, it is very hard to get funding for lobbying. Your support is so wonderful. We've raised about $25K this year. Please celebrate this work by attending our Trivia fundraising event on Sunday, December 5th at 2 PM. You do not have to donate to attend!

The new Buy Nothing app is a great way to give and get and share with neighbors. The Buy Nothing Project was founded in 2013 with the mission to build community by connecting people through hyperlocal gifting, and reducing the impact on the environment.
Please visit the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center, take action to defund SPD by at least 50%, and work with folks living outside in your community to make sure they are safe. Support Seattle Transit Riders Union Solidarity Fund to distribute propane & food to houseless neighbors.
