December 2018 Issue
Greetings Sorors,

I hope you're enjoying the newsletter. I appreciate the great feedback I've received since the launch last month. My hope is you will continue to find this newsletter enjoyable and maybe, just maybe, you will join us for an event here and there in the future.
This issue is sure to not disappoint because I have lots to share! GPS had an EXTREMELY busy RHOvember. We started the month with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.'s Get Out the Vote initiative then we rolled right into our welcome reception for Wisconsin's own International 1st Grand Anti-Basileus Rasheeda S. Liberty, and ended the month with a filling fundraiser from our very own Rhoer Club with lots of other activities in between.

Until next month...

In Sisterhood and Service,

Soror Tanya E. Jefferson, Anti-Basileus

One Goal. One Passion. Membership!!!

Get Out the Vote Initiative...
On November 6th, Gamma Pi Sigma Alumnae Chapter Sorors, Undergraduate Sorors, and Philo Affiliate showed our commitment to serving our community by adopting the polling site at Firehouse Engine 22 and encouraged its citizens to exercise their right to vote.

We are always looking for more volunteers.
Please consider donating a few hours at the next election.

Founder's Day Celebration

On November 12th, we pause to pay tribute to the visionary women who conceived and founded our illustrious sisterhood - Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Ninety-six years ago, these seven school teachers accepted the challenge to light a torch for aspiring educators. They established community service as a guiding principle for us to build upon.

We honor these Seven Pearls by continuing to make a lasting impact on our communities.

Sorors of Gamma Pi Sigma and Eta Zeta Chapter - UWM celebrated Founders' Day on November 12, 2018, with dinner, chants and lots of laughs .

Affiliates Corner
Gamma Pi Sigma Philo Affiliate
The Milwaukee Chapter of the Philo Affiliates was the vision of Gamma Pi Sigma's very own Sorors Lacritia Spence and Moya Baylis. Soror Spence and Soror Baylis's vision was to establish an affiliate in our city that would uplift, empower and create a sisterly relationship with professional women who wanted to partner with our local chapter, but did not have a degree. So on September 29, 2006, the Gamma Pi Sigma Philo Affiliate was chartered and has flourished ever since.

Do you know any adult women who may be interested in the Philo Affiliate?
Please email the Philo Advisor, Soror Tawanda Frazier Philoadvisor@
