Christmas has special meaning this year. What a blessing it is to gather with those we love with a bit more confidence than we had in 2020. It is no surprise; we are created for community.
In the first chapters of the Bible, it is revealed that we are created in God’s image, and it is not right for man to be alone. We are built for community and as we near the commemoration of the coming of our Lord, may we take time this season to give thanks for the gift of His life and His Spirit of grace, through whom He grants eternal life and peace.
Throughout the year, it has been a pleasure to reunite with the Kindway family at various functions where we experience unity, unconditional love, and peace; so much of what the world is searching for today.
2021 saw our joyous return to the Ohio Reformatory for Women, Marion Correctional Institution, and expansion to the Pickaway Correctional Institution. Our Kindway community continues to grow! We expanded programing and services to the general population at MCI. We welcomed new alumni, church partners, employment partners, volunteers, landlord partners, board members, and donors.
God has richly blessed us and the blessings flow into the lives of our EMBARK family. Our community is thriving when we see countless occasions where our alumni reach out to help and encourage one another. As family, we celebrate joys and share in times of sorrow.
As we prepare for the birth of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, we give thanks that God has visited us, given us His Spirit through which we are created in His image so we may live in peace with Him and others.
Kindway gatherings give us a taste of Heaven on Earth and we look forward to what 2022 has in store.
