Community Share:

Since 2010, a group has been gathering at our congregation, Community of Christ @ South Crysler, to do individual handwork projects, socialize and of course snack!  We named ourselves The 4 F’s- Friends! Fellowship! Fun! Food!  For 12 years, we met every Thursday morning, fulfilling our commitment to the volunteers of the local hospital, making pillows for patients.  To date, we have made and delivered over 11,000 pillows to Centerpoint Medical Center. This commitment of pillows is a labor of love that has expanded our group and increased our devotion to experience and share the Blessings of Community.
We are grateful to be a part of Community of Christ and share the journey of life together.  As congregations in Central Mission Center, we have the ability and blessing to collectively use our resources of time, talent, treasure and testimony as one body to impactfully serve the community beyond the walls of our buildings.  It starts small. For the 4 F’s it was an idea to spend time together. Then it was saying yes to an invitation from the hospital.  Next the members at South Crysler responded by providing the filling for the pillows.  Then others have blessed the effort with donations of material.  Because of Covid and the loss of some of our members, we are currently meeting twice a month, but the purpose remains strong-   Friends! Fellowship! Fun! Food! – and the commitment to more pillows is solid. We welcome anyone who is interested to join us.  Contact Karen Clapper (816-807-0628)
