In less than two weeks we're starting our annual water sampling project on the Roe Jan. We collect samples at a dozen sites, from May through October, to learn about the stream.

Sampling is a wonderful experience. It's a great way for you to learn more about the Roe Jan. This year, in addition to sampling for Enterococcus, a fecal indicator bacteria, we're adding tests for nutrients that can drive algae blooms and also new tests for trace metals. But this happens only with your help.
Because of COVID, we need two members of the same household for each half of the stream, each month. If COVID conditions improve it's possible that later in the year we will be able to relax the 'same household' rule.
Zoom training for this year's sampling is on May 13th, and should take just a half hour.
