HERIT-DATA's 6th project meeting...From our homes!

The 1st and 2nd April 2020, the HERIT-DATA team was supposed to meet in Patras, Greece, for the 6th project meeting. Given the current global lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak, this was not possible.

Despite this, the project partners gathered online, for a virtual meeting from their homes!

The 31st March and 1st April, HERIT-DATA partners took some time to discuss about the project implementation and the results achieved so far.

We welcomed a new partner, the University of Florence, which has developed an open data platform that will be used to collect and analyse the data coming from the pilot sites.
More information about this platform will come soon on our website, social media and through our e-flash!

More importantly, the virtual meeting was an occasion to discuss the mitigation strategy to face the impact of the current Covid-19 crisis on the project activities, especially with regards to the data collection in the pilot sites, which are currently closed or with limited activity.

The partners agreed that, despite the difficult situation, it is still important to keep working on the project activities, with the right adaptations, in order to ensure that the project's expected results will be achieved.

Indeed, now more than ever, we need to keep working for a smarter, more sustainable model of tourism, and contribute to a healthier world when this crisis will be over.

The HERIT-DATA team will gather soon physically, but for now... it is important to #StayAtHome today to travel tomorrow!

You can virtually explore exhibitions, thanks to Google Arts and Culture. There are more than 500 museums referenced, among which the Uffizi Gallery of Florence, the Château de Versailles and the British Museum.
Movies are also made available by many institutions. You can watch 500 movies from The Milan film library.  Forget Netflix, it is a great opportunity to discover many Italian classics !
Plays are also made available by theaters, such as the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. Several plays are available on Youtube.
Even nature is accessible online. Here are 5 gardens from France, England and USA that you can virtually tour !
