New video about the Indicators System!
Meet Daniel from Valencia & learn about the indicators systems!
HERIT-DATA’s core mission is to support an effective collection and use of data to better manage tourism flows and consequently protect the heritage in Mediterranean destinations.
One of our Spanish partners, Fundación Santa Maria La Real, has released a new video illustrating the HERIT-DATA Indicators System.

Every day, we are surrounded by data. If used well, data can really help tourism planners and managers to improve the visitors experience while at the same time making sure that the tourism activities do not harm the local heritage and the resident communities.
Fundación Santa Maria La Real has worked with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the other project partners, in order to clarify which data can be collected and with which purpose. Based on this, the HERIT-DATA partners have developed an Indicators System, which follows the European Tourism Indicators System (ETIS) for sustainable destination management.

The HERIT-DATA indicators are going to be used in our pilot sites to collect information about tourism flows at the local level.
The data collected is ordered by answering to five key questions: how many people visit the place, where do they go, how long do they stay there, how their stay affects the places they visit and how they are perceived by inhabitants in their destination.
