New video! Dubrovnik pilot site
View of Dubrovnik old town
The wonderful old town of Dubrovnik (Croatia) is a UNESCO World Heritage site and attracts thousands of tourists every year. Dubrovnik is also one of the 6 pilot sites of the HERIT-DATA project.

In this new video, our partner, the City of Dubrovnik Development Agency, tells us more about this pilot action.

“The Dubrovnik Development Agency has recognized that the HERIT-DATA project could be a great contribution to the measures taken by the City of Dubrovnik to develop sustainable tourism”, explains Stjepan Cavar, from the City of Dubrovnik Development Agency.

Jelka Tepsik, Deputy Mayor of Dubrovnik, explains how the city invests in initiatives promoting the sustainability of tourism, such as Respect the City , in order to support heritage conservation, quality life and ensuring the best possible experience of Dubrovnik as a destination for its visitors.

In Dubrovnik, we will monitor the flow of visitors in real time through six counting cameras installed at the entrances of the old town. The information is then injected into the dashboard on Snap4City platform, and becomes available to be analysed.

A new, single access point to European data
data.europa.eu

The European Union Open Data Portal and the European Data Portal have joined together to create a new, single portal where to access open data from Europe and beyond.

>> Visit the new portal <<

Open data is a powerful resource, both for citizens and decision makers.

In the tourism sector, it plays a key role in informing the related public policies and in supporting a better management of tourism flows, with the aim to protect the cultural and natural heritage.

Data.europa.eu contains datasets covering a broad spectrum of topics and 36 countries, providing access to open data from international, EU, national, regional, local and geo data portals.

The whole value chain of data is covered: from data publishing to data reuse. It allows to search, provide and use data, as well as access to training and online resources.

Those managing a portal or a website containing public sector information can propose it to be harvested on this portal, though a specific contact form.
