The website connects tourists with professionals that offer a sustainable touristic experience or activity, through a satellite data map that locates the different initiatives. Tourists can use Flockeo’s map to find sustainable offers.
Tourists choose a destination based on the environmental impact of human activities on destinations.
To assess the ecological footprint of a destination, Flockeo looks at 3 indicators: pressure on water, quality of biodiversity and population density.
Once the tourists have chosen their destinations based on these criteria, they can connect with local stakeholders in sustainable tourism, rated according to a Sustainable Tourism Charter.
This charter gathers actions with environmental, social and economic reach. For instance, employing local actors or preserving biodiversity are some of the actions included in this chart.
