Between the Sheets

August 20, 2021

The GNCC cost for insurance for 2021 and 2022 is $6 per curler. GNCC insurance runs on a calendar year.  Clubs that did not enroll in the plan during 2021 but are planning to open during the remainder of 2021 will pay a prorated cost based on the number of months they will be open in 2021.  The prorated cost is $0.50 per curler multiplied by the number of curlers and the number of months the club plans to be open through December 2021.  For example, if a club with 100 members were to open in September the cost would be $0.50 x 100 members x 4 months or $200.

Congratulations to Team Strouse!  Sydney and Susan are GNCC raised and got their start at Broomstones Curling Club and Philadelphia Curling Club.

The Silver medalist team was skipped by Katherine Gourianova of the Potomac Curling Club.
Congrats to Team Casper!  Danny and Marius are GNCC curlers who started at Ardsley Curling Club and Cape Cod Curling Club.

Curling for a Cause

What do curling and the Boston Marathon have in common?  Dedicated participants who are passionate about a great cause!  On August 8th, the Colonial Curling Association hosted Curl For a Cause, the Boston Curl-a-Thon.  With first-time curlers joining seasoned veterans, talented junior curlers, and two guest celebrities from the Boston Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the event raised funds for Fenway Community Health via the Fenway Health Marathon Charity Team.

The Coastal Carolina Curling Club is working on a dedicated curling facility here on the NC coast, and we are close.  We have the land and are working with a bank to secure financing for the construction.
We need to raise 10% of the total project costs while the loan is being considered, and we need your help!!!  Thus, we have created a small fundraiser to help us reach this goal.

This link will take you to our donation page with more information on the project, our business plan, and how to donate.  With your assistance, we can bring dedicated curling to the Coastal Carolina region of North and South Carolina.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
