If your club has not yet responded to the 2019 Wheelchair Accessibility & Interest Survey there's still time. Just click this link. It will only take a few minutes of your time.

After we receive all the responses we will:

  • Compile a list of all clubs currently accessible and post that information to our website to assist Wheelchair curlers to identify facilities that could work for them
  • Offer advice, insight and guidance for those clubs looking to make their club more accessible either through slight changes or building renovations
  • Make resources for developing a wheelchair curling program within clubs more available (e.g. instructor training & clinics )

The following individuals that must comply with the SafeSport training:
  1. USCA board members,
  2. Club board members,
  3. State/region board members,
  4. Coaches,
  5. Junior curlers 18 or older curling with other juniors less than 18 years old,
  6. Anyone else who has regular contact with minor athletes

GNCC Historian
Did you know that the Gordon Emmet Bonspiel is the second oldest competition in the GNCC after the Bell Quoits Silver Medal? (more about that in a future article) The medal has been in competition every year since 1868, except for the years 1874, 1887, 1889, 1890, (thaw) and 1943 (war).

Help Needed

Our current GNCC Statistician, Charlene Fitzgerald, is stepping down. So we're looking for a volunteer to take over her duties. Mostly this involves gathering bonspiel results and posting them on the GNCC website. (We'll train you.) If you're interested in volunteering please contact us.
Editors Note

Fall is officially here and Between The Sheets is now back to a bi-weekly schedule. Our next issue will be on October 18th.
