First the good news - the majority of GNCC clubs have adopted the USCA's Minor Athletes Abuse Prevention Policies. (MAAPP)
Now the bad news, 23 GNCC Clubs haven't. So if your club is on the list you only have until August 10th to notify the USCA that you want to be covered. Failure to do so could expose your club to liability if an abuse case is brought against your club.

Since launching his Brush Like a Badass clinics in 2015, Dean Gemmell has helped over nearly 1,000 curlers improve their sweeping skills. Most players receive very little brushing instruction and Dean’s clinics help them enjoy the game more because they learn how to be more effective and make a greater contribution on the ice. Clubs that want to host a session only need to provide the ice time—Dean creates an eflyer, manages registrations and payments, and does not require any financial commitment from the host venue.
If you’re interested in bringing the Brush Like a Badass clinic to your club, contact Dean at dgemmell@thecurlingshow.com.
