The Nashville Curling Club has become the latest member club of the GNCC. For those of you who are keeping score at home - we're now at 74 clubs in 19 states.

Great job!

The USCA Wheelchair National Team (Matthew Thums, Steven Emt, David Samsa, Oyuna Uranchimeg, and Pam Wilson) has qualified for the 2022 Paralympics in Beijing.

So you've managed to re-open your club - hopefully without too many issues. Congratulations. But are you up to date on your SafeSport certifications and background checks?

The GNCC provides Background Screening for all GNCC clubs. A Background Screening is required for all volunteers involved in Junior (21 and under) activities, such as; Coaches, Trainers, and Chaperones. In addition GNCC board members are required to pass a Background Screening as are many club board members.

If your club hasn't adopted Background Screenings for officers and directors you may want to consider it. A GNCC club may utilize the GNCC Background Screening service for anyone in their club they choose. This service is provided by the GNCC and is not associated with the USCA.

The applicant is charged $28 to perform the Background Screening. A Pass/Fail report will be send to both the applicant and the GNCC SportsEngine Administrator.
