Overnight closures of US 54 impacted by weather

• Southbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic from the Cassidy Road overpass to the Pershing Drive underpass.

• DETOUR: All traffic on southbound US 54 must take Exit 22 (Pershing Drive/Fort Bliss), then take the Pershing Drive/Altura Avenue exit, continue on Gateway Boulevard South, and re-enter US 54 north of Pershing Drive. All traffic bound from westbound Spur 601 to US 54 will go northbound on US 54; traffic seeking to head south will take Exit 25 (Ellerthorpe Avenue) and u-turn. 

• Northbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic from the Altura Avenue overpass to Fred Wilson Avenue.
• DETOUR: Northbound traffic on US 54 will take exit take Exit 23 (Fort Bliss/Cassidy Road) to Gateway Boulevard North and continue through the traffic light at Fred Wilson Avenue before re-entering northbound US 54.

• Westbound Interstate 10 will be reduced to one lane at US 54.
• Ramp C which connects northbound US 54 to westbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic.
• Ramp L which connects Gateway Boulevard West to westbound I-10 at Reynolds Street will be closed to all traffic.

About the I-10 Connect Project

The I-10 Connect project is at the intersection of Interstate 10 and US 54 in El Paso County. The project extends from I-10 to Loop 375 (Cesar Chávez Border Highway) and provides access to the Bridge of the Americas (BOTA) via I-110. The $96 million project includes the construction of four new direct connectors, a full reconstruction of the I-110/US 62 (Paisano Drive) interchange, and removes exit ramps from US 62 to I-110.

I-10 Connect will improve connectivity between I-10 and Loop 375, also providing an alternate route to I-10. It started February 19, 2019, and is expected to be complete in less than three years.

• DESVIACIONES: Todo tráfico de US 54 Sur debe tomar la Salida 22 (Pershing Drive/Fort Bliss), luego la Salida de Pershing Drive/Altura Avenue, continuar en Gateway Boulevard Sur, y volver a integrarse alUS 54 al norte de Pershing Drive. Toto tráfico de Spur 601Oeste a US 54 continua hacia el norte en US 54; el tráfico con destino al sur toma la Salida 25 (Ellerthorpe Avenue) y se retorna.

• US 54 Norte estará cerrado para todo tráfico del puente de Altura Avenue hasta Fred Wilson Avenue.
• DESVIACIÓN: El tráfico de US 54 Norte  toma la Salida 23 (Fort Bliss/Cassidy Road) a Gateway Boulevard Norte y continua pasando el semáforo en Fred Wilson Avenue antes de volver a integrarse al US 54 Norte.
