Extended overnight closure
on ramp from I-10 to US 54

EL PASO, Texas — Commuters traveling from Downtown to Northeast El Paso should plan extra time for their morning drive on Wednesday due to an extension of a previously announced closure.

EXTENDED
Tuesday, April 21, at 9pm until
Wednesday, April 22, at 10am

• Ramp H, which connects eastbound I-10 to northbound US 54, will be closed to all traffic.
• DETOUR: Continue on eastbound I-10, take Exit 24A (Trowbridge Drive), use the newly widened turnaround, enter westbound I-10 and take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss).

Crews will be working overnight on the widening of Ramp H. The extended closure is necessary to minimize vibrations that can negatively impact recently completed concrete work.

Motorists are also reminded of two high-impact closures slated to take place later this week along US 54.

On Wednesday and Thursday nights, most ramps connecting US 54 and Loop 375 in South-Central El Paso will be closed to all traffic On Friday, motorists travelling from southbound US 54 to westbound I-10 via the US 54 Collector/Distributor Lanes in Central El Paso could see delays resulting from lane closures there.

Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23
Nightly from 9pm to 5am

• Ramp M, which connects southbound US 54 to eastbound Loop 375, will be closed to all traffic.
• DETOUR: Take Exit 21A (I-10 East/Van Horn), then take Exit 23B (US 62/180/Chelsea Street/Paisano Drive), turn right on Paisano Drive, turn left on Gateway Boulevard South.
• Ramps N and O which connect Loop 375 to northbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic.
• DETOURS: Eastbound traffic on Loop 375 should take Exit 56 (Fonseca Drive), turn left onto Fonseca and left onto westbound Loop 375. Westbound traffic on Loop 375 should take Exit 20 (US 54/US 62).

Crews will be working on drilled shafts.

The Following On-going Overnight Closures are Scheduled to Continue:

Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23
Nightly from 9pm to 5am

• Ramp H, which connects eastbound I-10 to northbound US 54, will be closed to all traffic.
• DETOUR: Continue on eastbound I-10, take Exit 24A (Trowbridge Drive), use the newly widened turnaround, enter westbound I-10 and take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss).
• Gateway Boulevard East will be closed to all traffic adjacent to Lincoln Park.
• DETOUR: Enter eastbound I-10 at Loop 478 (Copia Street) and take Exit 23A (Raynolds Street).
• NOTE: On Tuesday and Wednesday nights, Gateway East will be closed beginning at Copia Street. Traffic will detour via Copia to SH 20 (Alameda Avenue) to Raynolds Street.

Crews will be placing overhead bridge girders for the widening of Ramp H.

Tuesday, April 21, from 9pm to 5am

• Ramp D, which connects southbound US 54 to eastbound I-10, will be closed to all traffic.
• DETOUR: Take Exit 21B (I-10 West/Las Cruces), then take Exit 20 (Cotton Street), turn left on Cotton and left onto eastbound I-10.

 Crews will be working on drilled shafts.

About the I-10 Connect Project

The I-10 Connect project is at the intersection of Interstate 10 and US 54 in El Paso County. The project extends from I-10 to Loop 375 (Cesar Chávez Border Highway) and provides access to the Bridge of the Americas (BOTA) via I-110. The $96 million project includes the construction of four new direct connectors, a full reconstruction of the I-110/US 62 (Paisano Drive) interchange, and removes exit ramps from US 62 to I-110.

I-10 Connect will improve connectivity between I-10 and Loop 375, also providing an alternate route to I-10. It started February 19, 2019, and is expected to be complete in less than three years.

EL PASO, Texas — Los automovilistas que viajan del Centro al Noroeste de El Paso deben dejar tiempo extra para su tránsito este miércoles por la mañana debido a la prolongación de un cierre antes anunciado.

• La Rampa H, que conecta I-10 Este con US 54 Norte, cierra para todo tráfico.
• DESVIACIÓN: Continuar en I-10 Este, tomar Salida 24A (Trowbridge Drive), utilizar el nuevamente renovado retorno hacia I-10 Oeste y tomar Salida 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss).

Cuadrillas trabajan por la noche en la ampliación de la Rampa H. Se prolonga el cierra para minimizar vibraciones que pueden perjudicar al concreto nuevo.

Miércoles 22 y jueves 23 de abril
Cada noche de 9pm a 5am

• La Rampa M, que conecta US 54 Sur con Circuito 375 Este cierra para todo tráfico.
• DESVIACIÓN: Tomar Salida 21A (I-10 East/Van Horn), luego Salida 23B (US 62/180/Chelsea Street/Paisano Drive), doblar a la derecha en Paisano Drive, doblar a la izquierda en Gateway Boulevard Sur.
• Las Rampas N y O, que conectan Circuito 375 con US 54 Norte cierran para todo tráfico.
• DESVIACIONES: El tráfico de Circuito 375 Este toma la Salida 56 (Fonseca Drive), dobla a la izquierda en Fonseca y a la izquierda en Circuito 375 Oeste. El tráfico de Circuito 375 Oeste toma la Salida 20 (US 54/US 62).

Cuadrillas trabajan en pilotes colados.

• La Rampa H, que conecta I-10 Este con US 54 Norte, cierra para todo tráfico.
• DESVIACIÓN: Continuar en I-10 Este, tomar Salida 24A (Trowbridge Drive), utilizar el nuevamente renovado retorno hacia I-10 Oeste  y tomar Salida 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss).
• Gateway Boulevard Este cierra para todo tráfico cerca de Lincoln Park.
• DESVIACIÓN: Tomar I-10 Este sobre Circuito 478 (Calle Copia) y tomar Salida 23A (Calle Raynolds).
• AVISO: Las noches del martes y el miércoles, Gateway Blvd. Este cierra entre Calles Copia y Reynolds. El tránsito se desvía por Copia hacia SH 20 (Avenida Alameda) a Calle Raynolds.

• La Rampa D, que conecta US 54 Sur con I-10 Este, cierra para todo tráfico.
• DESVIACIÓN: Tomar la Salida 21B (I-10 West/Las Cruces), luego la Salida 20 (Calle Cotton), doblar a la izquierda en Cotton y a la izquierda en I-10 Este.
