Hi <<Your name>>,
Last week I took some break and went for 4 days to Dunkirk and Lille. Very beautiful cities where Spark and Scala are present almost at every step - the proof in the images below :)

Regarding the posts, last week I published 2 pretty global articles about data engineering. The former was about horizontal scalability. If you need some "back to the basics", I can invite you to read Introduction to horizontal scalability. It's the first time when I tried to make the images by hand. I'm curious to see what do you think about it.
In the second post I started a new series called Big Data patterns implemented.  The idea came when I found a listing of Big Data patterns (Arcitura Big Data patterns) several months ago. The listing is quite good but for me, it lacks some concrete examples. During next weeks I will try to enrich it with the posts describing the patterns more in details. I started this week with Big Data patterns implemented - automated dataset execution post.
I also have 2 new Scala tips (if you see the picture from the beginning, you will understand why ;)) for you on Newsletter 14.04.2019 Scala tips. You will learn how to generate tuples from a sequence and how to apply different transformation logic on the last element of a sequence.
Please let me know if I can do anything for you.
Have a nice week.
Bartosz.
