Hello Everybody,

The January edition of The Crunkleton monthly newsletter we call The Bar Tab is coming through alive and well. Auld Lang Syne to 2019. It was an interesting year with lots of ins, outs, and what have yous.

The Crunkleton in Charlotte was IN. Everyone coming to join the private bar and enjoying the food and drinks was IN. The staff working hard to ensure our vision of hospitality and service was IN. An overall wonderful year for our little business that could was IN. Because of each of you, there were plenty of ins to talk about and celebrate.

What was OUT? Well, certainly not whisk(e)y. An argument could be made for vodka being OUT, but I am not going to make it. Hmmm... what is out from 2019? I’m going with what is normal. Yes, doing what is normal is out.

It’s 2020 and we do not need an optometrist to tell us that 2020 means clear vision. We know this already because we yearn for individualism, creativity, wild experiences, and discovery.  What does all this have to do with The Crunkleton? This is what I will be writing about in The Bar Tab for the coming months as we all embark on a new year of clarity–with great food, drinks, and hospitality.

For the WHAT HAVE YOUS, they encompass all that we do every day to make each other’s lives better. At the bar, we try to make your lives better through food and drink. We consider it a privilege. We do it with our coworkers, members, and guests. I hope it is contagious and each of you goes out and spreads the joy to each other (and strangers if you want). There is a lot to do in 2020. I wish for prosperous days ahead for each of you along with some serenity.

This inspirational kind of talking is fun. I do like to lead with the heart sometimes. I am grateful for each of you, the staff, the bar leadership, and my business partners. Please try to meet each of them this year. Also, remember to try and meet someone new every time you visit The Crunkleton in Charlotte.

It’s the people in bars that make bars great!

All the best,
Gary Crunkleton

January Employee of the Month

One of the big players behind the bar at The Crunkleton is Alana Gamundoy. Alana has been wonderful as she navigated through the growing pains of a new business. Her leadership and steadfast attention to detail are just a couple of her great talents. Alana is tremendous for our guests and her coworkers. We proudly award Alana Gamundoy the January Employee of the Month. Thanks Alana! (Front and center in this photo!)
Cheers,
The Crunkleton Team
