A Note From DSAMH Leadership

As many of you are already aware, DSAMH has made changes over the past few months to better organize and respond to the current needs of the division. One of these moves was to establish the Executive Programs and Grant Administration unit within the Office of the Division Director. As the new Director of this unit, my staff and I will continue to oversee the State Opioid Response grant (SOR), other federal grants, as well as multiple DSAMH special projects. My Deputy Director and Chief of Special Projects, Naloxone Support Team, SOR Program Management Team, SOR Implementation/Integrity Team, Education/Awareness Team, and the Opioid Response Center will round out this new unit. I would also like to personally invite our DTRN partners to join us at our in-person SOR conference in mid-September. Please reach out to DSAMH.ORT@delaware.gov if you have not already received the agenda and registration link.

Spotlight: Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

Delaware's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) is an expert resource linking businesses with skilled, productive workers with disabilities. DVR assists Delawareans with disabilities to develop/advance their own professional pathways, which connects qualified employees to meaningful employment in a new career or with current employers.

Eligibility for DVR programming includes the following:
  • Has a physical, mental, or learning disability
  • The disability impacts one's ability to gain or keep a job
  • Services are needed to perform work
Participants play an active role in their unique process and collaborate with their VR counselor to select a job goal based on their capabilities, interests, education, and work experience. Attaining employment is expected by process completion. This results in their greater independence for participants and more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces.

You can add/modify/deactivate services via the service administration drop-down by your name. Simply select 'service administration' to access.

CLOSE THE LOOP:
DTRN tracks client show and no-show rates. Following each appointment, be sure to indicate every client's status to ensure you are closing the loop.
