1stF: Morning workouts will remain open as planned. Everyone should feel comfortable acting in the best interest of yourself and your family. Show up if you want. Do not attend if you aren’t comfortable. If you are on a Q and are uncomfortable doing so please reach out to a fellow Pax or Shandy to work through a replacement option. Please ease up on Slack call-outs during this time. Each of your brothers is reacting to the unfolding situation in their own way - we ask you practice empathy and respect any decision made by another man. There is no reason to add unnecessary pressure to anyone during this time. Aye!
March 15, 2020
You hear the ‘Disclaimer’ every morning before you post. “I am not a professional. You are here of your own free will.” Or some semblance of those words.
With the COVID-19 virus development it seems we are living hour to hour, day to day, in terms of learning new manners in which our normal world is going to be altered next. Maybe it’s a health scare, maybe it’s an inconvenience with work, child care, etc. F3 Naperville is here to reiterate that disclaimer now more than ever.
F3 is a free men’s workout. While some elements around our usual activities must change for an undetermined amount of time, we are going to do what we can to remain as such during this trying time.
Here are a few notes and updates from your Leadership Team:
If you are going to set an early alarm clock:
2ndF: #Coffeeteria is a regular and vital part of the F3 Naperville culture. We want nothing more than to maintain this important aspect of our glooms but are at the mercy of our situation. That said, the closing of restaurants across all of Illinois has made this an easy decision. Feel free to bring your own coffee, aminos, protein shakes, or skinny soy venti caramel frappuccino macchiato with you in the morning and enjoy in the parking lot with your fellow PAX! There will be no planned offsite Coffeeteria’s for the time being. Cliff Notes: No Official Off-site Coffeeterias for the next few weeks, feel free to gather at the AO.
- Please do not attend if you are presenting any symptoms or feel you may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19
- Limit activities that require close proximity or physical contact to another PAX
- You are empowered to call out and/or modify any activities you believe violate the recommended guidelines for practicing social distance, or make you uncomfortable
- Be aware that CoT will occur from Name-o-Rama positions rather than our beloved Ball-of-Name
- Cliff Notes: Morning Beatdowns will continue as planned.
3rdF: QSource is in full swing. Every week we have 3 locations of PAX gathering to discuss how to grow and evolve as leaders. Unfortunately, our situation is dictated by what’s happening around us. Our normal QSource gathering locations are closed to the public for the time-being so our usual QSource gatherings will be as well. That’s not to say that assigned Q’s or interested parties can’t come together and create a post beat-down or virtual gathering of some sort to remain on schedule with their #LDP (Leadership Development Program). Cliff Notes: No Official QSource gatherings for the next two weeks.
Men, none of this is normal and we hope none of these above plans are here to stay. We all want to maintain some semblance of what we deemed ‘normal’ within our lives. To do so, we should do our best to follow the guidance of our local leaders and doctors to do our part to keep us and our fellow citizens safe. We believe the above directives help us accomplish that goal.
As Roach Coach said late last week, we encourage everyone to stay engaged with each other via Slack and Social Media or other modes of communication. We remind you that the impacts of this pandemic may be more challenging and frightening for some than others; support each other with empathy and compassion. We ask you to be open and transparent with your own concerns and never hesitate to reach out to the group for support when needed.
F3 is an organization of virtuous leaders. If we can be of aid to our communities we need to look for those opportunities and step-up and lead with courage. We deeply want The Gloom to remain a place of normalcy amidst this challenging time, but feel these few practical requests are important. As always, we ask that each man push himself hard every day, but please do so with the respect of others forefront in your hearts.
Everyone should feel comfortable reaching out and voicing any concerns, questions, or ideas! Please consider Slack DM’s, texts, e-mails, phone calls, etc as all being OPEN for any of the below members of the Leadership Team at any time.
