What we're reading:
We started the audiobook of Colum McCann's Apeirogon* exactly a month ago and completed it yesterday. We challenge you to read/listen without shedding a tear, or two, or three! The novel beautifully intertwines the lives of two fathers, one Palestinian, the other Israeli, who each suffer the loss of a daughter. McCann elegantly weaves into the narrative the history of the region, the brutality of the occupation and perhaps most importantly, offers hope through re-humanising the systematically dehumanised.

What we're watching:
We've been enjoying tuning into the Euros as a family. There's something about international tournaments that reminds us of the beauty and possibilities of the game. We're also guilty of being a bit Goodness Gracious Me by keeping a beady eye on the Muslim players shining on the pitch.

What we're listening to:
Is it us or are podcasts getting longer and longer?! Dr Rangan Chatterjee's Bitesize series - snippets from his longer-form recordings are perfect for a quick pick-me-up. This episode featuring Dr Mithu Storoni is filled with plenty of actionable ideas and simple daily habits to reduce stress and anxiety.

What we're loving:
Tim Ferriss' new batch of short YouTube videos are unsurprisingly awesome. This one on How to Get Back on Track After Slipping Up (Habits, Diet, etc.) is really very good indeed filled with counterintuitive yet powerful gems such as "expect that you are going to get knocked off track".

Jeem Juxtapositions:
Did you catch Tauseef in our latest IGTV episode? If not, here it is: 'Friday is a State of Mind'

Thank you all for continuing to frequent our
Jeem Essentials* reading list. The list is a curated selection of reads that have featured in this newsletter, been mentioned in one of our Instagram Stories or have simply tickled our fancy. One thing's for sure: they resonate with our desire to inspire peace, purpose and productivity.

Quote we're pondering over:
To get what you love, you must first be patient with what you hate al-Ghazali

All best wishes and duas,

Tauseef & Sarah
