From DevCon: Layer 2 Scaling Demo. Uniswap and Plasma Group released a very polished demo application designed for scalability. Worth trying.

With more to come. Hayden also announced a talk on Oct 10 that will include info about planned improvements for Uniswap v2.

Bancor stable pools. Bancor announced stablecoin <> stablecoin pools. The innovation here is risk mitigation for liquidity providers. Impermanent loss will be near zero, assuming the pegs hold. So liquidity providers will realize the full gains from trading fees and entry/exit timing will matter less.

Uniswap's deepest pool is stable. Last week, I wrote about why _ETH pools are so attractive. These low-risk, low-return pools offer complete exposure to the price of ETH in USD. Future pools offering USD-only exposure will also be hugely attractive for some liquidity providers.

Will Uniswap LPs move? On one hand, Ethereum community members have been abrasive to Bancor's announcements. On the other hand, stable ETH and USD pools are easier to understand and will provide more fine-tuned control of pooled investments. My own prediction is that the Uniswap DAI-ETH pool is broadly safe from cannabilization. Future stablecoin pools will see most of their growth from new money and different liquidity providers who do not find the proposition of straddling the price of ETH attractive.
