JWL Collaborates to Prepare Refugees for Academic English Writing Success

Global English Program
English. Jesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL) is a collaborative global partnership comprised organizations, institutions, companies, and above all, people, which enables refugees, IDPs (internally displaced persons) and people from other marginalized communities to gain access to higher education.

Lack of English skills can be a significant obstacle for many. Therefore JWL has launched the Global English Program (GEL) which plays an important role in breaking this barrier. This program wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration of many Jesuit institutions like Universidad Loyola Andalucía (Spain) that has been providing support through the creation of a range of learning materials and self-study videos for students along with training sessions for the teachers on the GEL program.

Learn more about the Global English Programme and this collaboration reading the article by Shane Martin Mcloughlin, Director of Loyola Idiomas at Loyola Andalucía and Susanna Ablewhite, Director of the GEL program at Jesuit Worldwide Learning. Read article
