Is there a story that the global Jesuit network should know about?

Please, share it with us through

Intercampus -Virtual AUSJAL

English. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have seen how research centers, faculties, universities, and associations around the world have exercised their creativity in order to continue offering global and intercultural experiences to their students and teachers. The innovation on virtual formats of teaching has opened new venues for international academic cooperation.

The desire to foster this type of cooperation has always been present in AUSJAL, and a clear example of this is the "Programa Intercampus-Virtual AUSJAL" (PIVA) that we present here. PIVA represents a formula for internationalization at home in which any AUSJAL student can register subjects in the 20 participating universities with curricular validity for his or her own program, and any professor can offer his or her course to the rest of Latin America. To date, 700 students and professors have already participated.

The Ignatian tradition at the Core of Jesuit Higher Education

Fr. Paul Fitzgerald, S.J.
In our latest edition, we invite you to read the article "The Ignatian tradition at the Core of Jesuit Higher Education," by Fr. Paul Fitzgerald, President of the University of San Francisco.
In this insightful article, Fr. Fitzgerald takes us on a journey with the fundamental core concepts that give life to the Ignatian tradition inherited from 500 years ago and takes them as a common ground among Jesuit universities around the world.
In addition, by addressing the concepts of Cura Apostolica, Magis, Discernment of spirits, Magnanimity, Tantum Quantum, Contemplatio, he invites us to reflect deeply on our performance in institutions for the greater good of our communities.
As teachers, staff, and administrators, we need to re-center ourselves on a daily basis. What are the temptations that would derail my engagement? Do I give in to social pressures? Do I avoid transparency? What are my character flaws that could be exploited by my enemies – vanity, anger, fear? What are the graces that will protect me and keep me true to myself and my mission? As important as this is to us, it is equally important in the present and future lives of our students.
We invite you to read this article and share it with your colleagues.
