Dear <<First Name>>,
Well, here we are. September once again. Whether you’re back to teaching (under extraordinary circumstances), sending kids off to school (possibly in your living room), or observing major shifts in the weather (snow?!!), the arrival of fall seems to spell change for all of us. And this fall is unlike any we’ve experienced. It’s easy to feel isolated and overwhelmed.
So I’d like to take a minute to remind you that you are not alone. So many of us are struggling right now, in ways large and small, visible and invisible. Please know that no matter what unhelpful stories we tell ourselves, these challenges do not separate us from others. Instead, they connect us.
I wrote on this theme in the first chapter of my new book, Well on Your Way: an assistant professor’s companion. Please download an except if you’d like to read more. (It’s not just for assistant professors!) I’ve also posted some new Nurture videos in the past couple of weeks if you want to check those out.
Thanks again for spending these moments with me. I know your time is precious, and I sincerely hope you find value in the content I’ve shared. Please let me know what else would be helpful.
