IEEE Event Recap
On December 4th our Chair, Mark Scantlebury, and Vice Chair, Victor Lee, gave a presentation on behalf of Alberta IoT at the IEEE Industrial Internet of Things/Edge Processing event.
This event was organized by the IEEE Control Systems and Instrumentation chapter, of which Matt Eskandar (MR Control Systems) is Vice Chair. There were about 55 people in attendance.
Mark and Victor's presentation focused on the opportunity for Alberta to become a world leader in IoT due to our uniquely skilled professionals from the telecom and industrial automation industries. They communicated Alberta IoT's plan to bring companies together and help educate other organizations on how they can adopt IoT. Microsoft followed with a presentation focusing on cloud computing using Azure and edge computing. This involved a number of case studies which led to a very interactive discussion on how IoT can be applied to industrial automation.
Thanks to Matt and IEEE for inviting us to speak. If you have an event that you would like to invite Alberta IoT to speak at, please reach out.
