Weekly Update

About The Senior Pastor Vacancy...

Many of you are wondering what the process and transition looks like regarding the Senior Pastor vacancy.  Our church bylaws do a great job of spelling out the procedure for seeking a new pastor and we have already begun the process.  Detailed information will be available to you beginning this Sunday morning in the lobby or as you enter the church service.

During the transition, our Executive Pastor Scott Vail will serve as the Acting Lead Pastor and will have the responsibility for managing routine church activities and leading the staff, securing guest speakers, and working closely with the executive team and the personnel committee regarding a potential interim pastor.

Pastor Scott already has some great speakers lined up to both encourage and challenge us in the weeks ahead!

Ministry Partner Update

Summer On The Go continues...

As we prepare for our Summer On The Go, we are looking to equip the Body of Christ to fulfill its most essential task, which is to be ambassadors for the gospel. Having the ability to share the gospel in a consistent and conversational way is a foundation for a lifetime of witnessing.

In preparation for our upcoming mission trips and for the reaching of our city, Pastor Darrick will be holding an equip seminar Sunday June 5th after 10:30 service. This seminar will cover three important areas: what is the Gospel?; How does God’s story and my story connect and Gospel conversation training. This seminar will be concluded by a time of community engagement. Our church family will be heading to Freedom Park at 2pm. In partnership with Launch Global, evangelism leaders and FBC leaders will assist in helping us live out we trained.

You are encouraged to participate in the equip seminar. This is a time where great support is needed in prayer and in presence. So even for those who have shared the gospel for years, come to help in this time of equipping. We are seeking the support of our entire fellowship to pray Colossians 4:3-4 upon our venture, that God would open to us a door for the word, that we may make it manifest in the way we ought to proclaim it!

On Thursday, June 2nd, Changed Choices, in partnership with the Center for Community Transitions and First Baptist Charlotte, will be hosting a screening and conversation of APART, a new documentary that follows three mothers incarcerated in Ohio as they prepare to return home. All who are interests in learning more about incarceration and the unique ways it impacts women are invited to attend. Our Mission Committee will be serving over the event that night and all who would like to attend are requested to register by clicking HERE by May 26th
