It's becoming a habit...
How long before something becomes a habit?
This is my 5th week teaching on line, who would have thought, in fact who had heard of Zoom 6 weeks ago.?
I'm sure all of you have had some struggles in some shape or form (me included) to get used to this new way of life, and along the way we have learnt knew things, which are slowly becoming a habit.
Dictionary definition A Habit -is a routine of behaviour that is repeated regularly, and tends to occur subconsciously.
You may be surprised to know a bad habit takes as much work and practise as a good habit.
Movement is a habit too ,we subconsciously move, we have been learning and practising since we were born.
Pilates is all about movement, good movement, utilising the body as efficiently as possible. Joseph Pilates was a pioneer of good movement.
With Pilates it is the quality of movement which concerns us, not the quantity.
Form a new habit, each day spend 10 minutes consciously moving, practise your basic , regular Pilates exercises, (see the exercise sheet from week 3) and you will be surprised how subconsciously you move better. What else have we got to do?
Movement should be approached like life,-with enthusiasm, joy & gratitude,-for movement is life, and life is movement, and we get out of it what we put into it.
