'[...] the gravediggers wait nearby for the end of the funeral. In order not to be disruptive or disrespectful they have developed a way of communicating among each other by whispering and using sign language.'

I have just recently met Claudia and I'm a big fan of her work.
Check out her series on the redeveloping of Billingsgate Fish Market 'The Last Of The Billingsgate Fish Porters'.
I feel all her series are about slowness in some way.
I felt 'Gravediggers' was appropriate to feature during this time.

The few times I had to attend a funeral I remember distinctively how time moved at a slower pace than usual. Every gesture and every sound stretched fo longer and accompanied my tears and my grief.
Thinking that so many during these hard months didn't get this 'closure' is simply heartbreaking.

Hopefully, this will all end soon.
Stay safe.
