What have I been listening to lately?
Music, of course...
but not a lot.

Everybody seems to have a playlist for you to listen to these days, I think that might have put me off of music a bit.
For the first time in my life music isn't following me around and isn't popping up in my head every 5 minutes.
I start working or doing stuff around the house and I suddenly realise, 2 hours later, that I haven't put on any music!
I feel shocked, it's almost a sacrilege, so unusual.
I feel like I've betrayed it or me.

What I put on in the moments after this realisation is something else.
What I find extremely soothing and what I want to create a soundtrack to my days are sounds, noises, atmospheres from other places.
I'm travelling through the sound, into the drops, into the wind, hear far away ambulances and someone's dog, I inhabit the steps and use someone else's ears. I feel calm.

I guess this is the only travel I can afford at the present time.
I'll take it.

I also like how my taste in music has radically changed this past year.
I listen to Jazz, which I have never before in my life and lots and lots of Ambient music, something I always thought of being boring and useless...
I just wasn't there (or rather here) yet.
