The Engine Room
As the pandemic rolls on we’ve had time to think about how we develop our games. Most of the games we currently have in development are for 3 to 6 players and obviously with the current social distancing rules that makes play testing almost impossible except over Tabletop Simulator. Although Tabletop Simulator is better than nothing, it still has a number of limits when compared to playing face to face.
In light of that, I’m trying to come up with ideas for two player games and so far I’ve come up with an “Avalon Hill” style war game that features resources management, worker placement and engine building. But that didn’t seem to fit with the sort of games that I want to put out through East Street Games, so I’ve shelved that for the time being.
I then created a two player Gangster game, but that felt way too “dark” to be an East Street Game. So, I’m currently working on a more light hearted pick up and deliver game that’s showing some promise. Liam and I will be playtesting this later this week.
