Stanley's Spotlight

March 21, 2019

Adventurer Leader,

The sun has been shining on the Carolinas for the last several days and I know we are all grateful.  This past weekend thirty-seven pathfinder clubs participated in a work bee camp out at Nosoca Pines Ranch.  Sunday morning they worked to clean and prepare the camp grounds for Adventurer Fun Day.  The pathfinders did an excellent job and the camp looks much improved from the debris that collected over winter.

There was an injury to a pathfinder that required emergency services to transport him to a hospital for care.  He is recovering nicely but it was important that the club director had the application form and medical release on hand, properly filled out, and available to present to the medical and emergency staff.  Always have your club’s documentation with you when attending any adventurer event, club meeting, or activity.  It makes a big difference.

The first Adventurer Fun Day, April 7, 2019 is just two weeks away and I know your adventurers are getting excited. Thank you for paying attention to the newsletter announcements and the email updates concerning the details of registration and participation in the full day of activities. As promised, please read again these details for registering your club on Fun Day. We will be emailing the Horse Waiver forms to the directors as soon as we have them so please get a head start on filling those out so everyone can have more time at the rotations!

There are going to be some changes, so please help us by preparing now to comply. There are a few clubs that pay for this event with cash money. Cash will no longer be accepted; only a church bank check will work.  Only one/two persons will allowed to be in line to register their club for Fun Day.  You must have your total number of adults and children ready when registering. Please make Nicole aware of any changes before you arrive at Fun Day. If your club has a significant amount of attendants who did not show up, you will still be charged for the number you registered. Please emphasize this with the parents. It is absolutely necessary that you comply with each of these changes.  Let me review!
1.            A church bank check is the only form of payment that will be accepted.
2.            Only one/two persons are allowed in the registration line per club.
3.            The total number of adults and children must be known before entering the registration line. If your club has a significant amount of attendants that do not show up, you will still be charged.
Thank you for helping us with these changes.  The parade begins at 9:15, promptly, so plan accordingly. The weather is unpredictable, so it is suggested that you have ponchos or warm jackets available for your club members. I will see you soon at Nosoca!
