Celebrating Women Led Businesses in
Downtown Woodstock
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.

Marked annually on March 8th, International Women's Day (IWD) is one of the most important days of the year to:

•    Celebrate women's achievements
•    Raise awareness about women's equality
•    Lobby for accelerated gender parity

Every year a campaign topic is chosen, IWD 2021 campaign theme:
#ChooseToChallenge

A challenged world is an alert world.

Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.

Our plan is to make an information post and list all the women led businesses on our Facebook Page, to share with our Community how many BIA Businesses are in the District that are owned and operated by women!

Please email us and let us know if you would like to participate in our Social Media Campaign for IWD 2021!

The Deadline is
March 1, 2021 to have your name and business included on our list

It’s a win-win for everyone….your business is promoted by the entry, the shares, and all the promoting of the contest, the winner gets a great prize valued at $125, and the best part is the BIA foots the bill so it doesn’t cost you a thing!   How can you get in on this?   Easy!

Each month we will be having a themed contest where the winner will receive $100 Downtown Dollars to use at the BIA business of their choosing and a $25 gift certificate from a featured BIA business.

Help Us Keep Our Downtown Clean!
Please clean-up your storefronts every day to help us beautify and keep our Downtown clean!

We would like to remind our Downtown businesses to keep your storefront areas cleared of dirt, ice and snow so that your clientele can safely enter your business.

We need all Downtown businesses to do their part in keeping our Downtown clean and clear!

But if you do have any concerns regarding the streetscape cleanliness, please contact the City of Woodstock Works department!

Parking Extensions
in
Downtown Woodstock
Downtown Woodstock BIA Board of Management previously sent a request to Woodstock City Council, asking for time extensions for on-street parking and short-term municipal lots in the BIA district.

Woodstock City Council supported the request unanimously!

So parking spots on Dundas Street and in short-term municipal lots will now have three hours of 📢FREE📢 parking until June 14th, 2021.

All FREE municipal lots located in the BIA district now have 3 hour FREE parking. These changes are NOT applicable for municipal PERMIT parking lots or PRIVATE parking lots. For a list of all parking lots and whether they are permit or free, please see: https://www.cityofwoodstock.ca/en/residential-services/municipal-parking-lots.aspx.

Given the current situation with COVID-19, we hope this will encourage individuals to shop, dine, work, and play in the Downtown core; helping BIA Businesses make-up for lost business and to help revitalize Downtown Woodstock. 💰
