Hello to all of our subscribers!

Happy beginning of Autumn! What a beautiful season this is. As we watch the world change before our eyes into a wonderful canvas of color we can not help but be in awe of the greatness of our Lord and His design for us.

This is a season of Thankfulness and God has blessed us with so much.

Life in abundance comes only through great love.
~Albert Hubbard.

You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love.
~Henry Drummond.

How has God blessed you this month? As we contemplate the many things we have to be thankful for, let us also focus on how we can help and care for others in a spirit of love.

May God continue to bring you wonderful blessings this month!

Message From Our President

Dear Friends,

The latest stir about the Pope's new vision in his article "Pope's proposal for 'new humanism' would 'wipe out Christianity", seemed to catch us all in a panic. It seems we Christians always get caught up with news in the world and start worrying about the end times.

Yes, end time news is good news, I am not saying it is not important to know and to see the signs of the times which were already predicted by Jesus two thousand years ago, I am glad that some people pick up on those signs and alert us about them. However, I am worried that we will neglect to know what these signs really mean for us. As these signs point we are definitely closer to the day of the Lord's coming and I am asking myself a question, do these happenings draw me to the Bible, the Word of God. Do I draw closer to Christ? If these signs cause us to not change our life and do not bring us to repentance and unity with Christ and fellow brothers, then all of these signs will not do anything to us except promote hype and excitement that the prophecies are being fulfilled before our eyes. We are not to dwell upon those signs but rather we need to dwell on the reality that we are being judged now (judgement of the living is going on right now) and we might not be ready! We are not even fully understanding that we are living on borrowed time, that nothing is sure for us. That today we might live, but tomorrow might be too late. Sobering thought! Have you considered the road you are travelling on? Are we all on the narrow way asking the Lord to cleanse our unrighteousness, cleanse our sins and are we daily asking for baptism of the Holy Spirit that we can be ready to give the loud cry and that we are standing faultless before Him?

I am reminded of the passage in 1 Corinthians 13 which highlights the agape love that needs to dwell in our hearts for our fellow men. Here is the passage again from 1 Corinthians 13.

"Thou I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, And have not charity I became the sounding brass and tinkling cymbal...

Although I have a gift of prophecy and understand all the mysteries and all knowledge, And though I have all the faith so that I could remove the mountain, but I have not charity I am nothing...

Someone said: what lies behind us and what lies before us are only tiny matters, compared to what lies within us. How is it with your soul? Does the love of God dwell in you? Does the love of God dwell in me? Is this not a more important focus then the end time signs?

Our mission at QUO VADIS is to point out the road we must be walking on if we should inherit eternal life. Friends let us focus and desire a new heart. Let us pray for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and speak to our eyes, our ears, and our heart. The righteousness of God is the love of God.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3

Dear friends of Quo Vadis,
I was flying with a few others in an aircraft, viewing the spectacular fall scenery in the mountains, below.  It was amazing, and we were enjoying the ride, when suddenly we were caught in some power wires and began to plummet down the face of a massive cliff to destruction below.  At first I experienced fear, but as the inevitable grew closer, I realized in a moment I would see Jesus, and I shouted joyfully, "I'm yours, Jesus! I'll see you soon!!"
I woke before the fatal crash, with the strong impression that this was an important message from God.  Was it for me?  or for others?  What could it mean?  I prayed for God to show me, and opened my Bible.  The first verses I read were these:
“People from many nations will pass by this city and ask each other, ‘Why has the Lord done this to this important city?'  The answer will be: ‘They rejected the promise of the Lord their God. They worshiped other gods and served them.'”  Jer 22:8-9 (GW)
“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice ..."  Jer 22:13 (ESV)
"Do you think you're a better king than others because you use more cedar?
Your father ate and drank and did what is fair and right.  Everything went well for him.
He defended the cause of the poor and needy.  Everything went well for him.
Isn't this what it means to know me?” asks the Lord.  Jer 22:15-16 (GW)
I wasn't sure what to make of it - my mind was boggled by it all.
But, I needed to write to all of you, so I asked God what He wanted to say to you today, and these are the verses He gave me for you:
“Wail, you shepherds, and cry out, and roll in ashes, you lords of the flock, for the days of your slaughter and dispersion have come, and you shall fall like a choice vessel. No refuge will remain for the shepherds, nor escape for the lords of the flock. A voice—the cry of the shepherds, and the wail of the lords of the flock! For the Lord is laying waste their pasture,  and the peaceful folds are devastated because of the fierce anger of the Lord. Jer 25:34-37 (ESV)
(And, from my study of this chapter before, I understand that the fierce anger of the Lord is against sin and what it does to the people He loves, not fierce anger against people.)
All I can say is this:  For God to be sending this kind of message out today can only mean one thing - that Jesus is coming very, very soon - sooner than we may expect it.  Things are going to crumble all around us and we will find ourselves in circumstances that will be the enemy's attempt to break our hold on Jesus, and sever our trust of Him.
“Isn't my word like fire or like a hammer that shatters a rock?” asks the Lord.  “I'm against the prophets who steal my words from each other,” declares the Lord.  “I'm against the prophets who speak their own thoughts and say that they speak for me.  I'm against those who prophesy dreams they made up,” declares the Lord.  Jer 23:29-32 (GW)
Serious things to pray through, but, God's promises are sure!
Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.  I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.  Jer 23:3-4 (ESV)

I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will turn to me with all their heart..  Jer 24:7 (NIV)
I'm still not completely sure how to take all this, but I'm praying He will make it clear to each of you as He desires.  God loves you, that I know for certain.
I'm praying for you,
