NLAC News - Fall 2022

Greetings from the Northern Lights Arts Council!

First things first, we want THANK YOU for your support! With your membership dollars in 2021-2022, we were able to do the following:

  • Bring in artists to our community. We hosted the Summer Concert Series, Artist in Residence, and art exhibits at local businesses. We also showcased student artwork through the Art Student of the Month program.

  • Offered a variety of classes including weaving, watercolor, book discussion, and art day camp.

  • Presented a holiday musical and free outdoor movie.

  • Awarded one college scholarship and three International Music Camp scholarships.

  • Applied for and received matching grant funds.

Thank you to those who have already sent in your 2022-2023 membership donations. We are SO grateful for your generosity and support! If you haven’t yet, we invite you to become a member for the 22-23 season! Membership runs from October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023. NLAC is a non-profit tax-exempt organization pursuant to IRS Section 501(c)(3).

Your membership donations can be mailed to NLAC, PO Box 162, Langdon, ND 58249. We also are now able to accept Online Donations! Click HERE to access the donation page, or visit our website to learn more about becoming a member HERE (there is also a link to the online donation page on our website). There is a small fee to use your credit card, but we are excited to offer this feature for those who prefer not use checks or cash, and we still happily accept those forms of payment also.

Event Brochures

If you did not receive an event brochure in the mail, they are available at the Roxy Theater, City Hall, and the Cavalier County Courthouse in Langdon. You can also contact us and we would be happy to mail you one! It is also available on our website, electronically or for download, in both regular and large-print versions. Events and activities are subject to change, so it is best to watch our website and Facebook page for updates.

Community Band Holiday Concert

Save the date, Monday, December 12, for the community band holiday concert at the Roxy Theater in Langdon. More details to come, but mark yourself as “interested” in the Facebook event to get all the updates!

Have a great weekend!

Art Student of the Month

School is in full swing which means we’ve kicked off the Art Student of the Month program once again! October’s Art Student of the Month is Wyatt Crump, a 1st grader at St. Alphonsus school. Wyatt’s parents are Alma & Brandon Crump. Wyatt’s favorite thing about art is getting to draw and do fun projects. Wyatt’s teacher says he is always excited for art, he works very hard, and is always creative. Congrats, Wyatt!

You can see the Art Student of the Month artwork displayed at the Breadpan Bakery on Mainstreet Langdon.
