Newsletter December!

Dear <<First Name>>,

My last update is well over three months ago, time to break that radio silence and show you what I've been up to! The most important note I'll put up here. It's okay to be not productive, stressed or just not okay. These are rough times.

We're in a pandemic baby.. #Cantdansa winner!
What occasion this year would lean itself to do an extensive face paint? Not very many, due to lockdown and the ongoing pandemic. Festivals, LARP's and events are all a couple of months away still. Yet, that was precisely the reason I painted this bark-shedding nymph in October. I was a little stuck, and then got the suggestion to do a facepaint from a friend instead of forcing more creativity on canvas.
You see, Cadansa Balfolk Festival wrote out a small competition asking for creative expression under the hashtag #cantdansa. I hold dear memories to the festival and was inspired by the warmth and expression dancing is in it's essenceI have my hopes high that after this winter, we will all shed our tough defenses and are able to bloom again. It was honest fun to do, and I'm  really grateful I won!

Another new medium:

I did my first window painting! As some of you know, my partner has his own liquor store. Consequently, I have some suggestions for their corporate identity..

It's great working for people with passion in their work. The window painting was for the Bock beer season, in the meantime I have also illustrated and designed three giftcards for Biedebolle.

No MTG alters..

I haven't had any MTG alter commissions the past month! Are my prices too high, or is the game on hold due to the social gatherings being on hold?

If you know, sent me a message!
See more of my alters...

A rarity: 2 finished canvas paintings!

I made this painting after being inspired by the #wearewatching movement, letting world leaders know that they and their policies regarding climate, human rights and social justice are on our radar.
News goes fast and doesn't stick. Do you remember this year starting with huge forest fires in Australia? It's one of the reasons I support and donate a part of my earnings to WWF. They keep fighting the long fight, always.
Luckily, there's always good news. On 23 september, Thijs was born! It was an honor to illustrate and design his birth card in close cooperation with his parents.
That's all folks! I hope you enjoyed this newsletter. If you got it by some lovely friend of mine that forwarded it to you, feel free to subscribe. It's just one mail every month!

And remember, if you have a question/suggestion/commission, feel free to contact me
