Pint Path is Here!

Happy Thursday, friends!

It's the most wonderful time of the year for us on the Pint Path committee-- crisp air, leaves starting to show some color, throwing on layers and sweating to death when the sun comes out!

A few programming notes before we get into Saturday's #PintPathNKC festivities:

-Saturday also brings us the Howl-o-Ween dog costume contest at Waggin Trail Dog Park. A $5 donation gets you and your dog admission for a 1:15 large dogs costume contest and 1:30 contest for small dogs.

-Velo Garage is hosting a no-drop ride from the Crossroads to their taproom on Swift on Friday night-- with rounds of City Barrel Brewing's beers at each stop.

-Friday night is also the Grand Re-Opening Street Party for Expressive Studio on Armour Road (now in the brick building across from Tyler Kingston Mercantile) starting at 5PM.  '80s cover band Fast Times joins in the fun at 7PM.

-Saturday Night after Pint Path, Driftwood Ceramics is hosting their "Pots & Pints" BYOB ceramics class. Use promocode NKCPINTPATH (all caps) at Driftwood's website for 15% off the class (10/12 class only).

-You can also get a discount Saturday for ONE MONTH of yoga at nKCyoga on Armour. Buy online SATURDAY ONLY at . Makes for a good recovery plan...

-Speaking of recovering from your quest around NKC, Helen's will be hosting a Chiefs watch party and "2nd Chance" Prize Collection event on SUNDAY.  If you ghosted your commemorative pint glass or need to collect the spoils of your killer social media prize package-winning photo, come down and kick it with the volunteer team behind Pint Path and sip down a little hair of the dog from Helen's stacked line-up of Boulevard taps and fine spirits.

Get Ready, Set, Go for
Pint Path 2019

It’s time for that year-round training to pay off on Saturday, October 12th, noon to 6 PM, at the Fifth Annual Pint Path. Dedicated beer fans, walkers, runners, bikers, shoppers, and explorers have had an entire year to prepare in and around North Kansas City. Get ready…set…go!

Get in on that juicy juicy Bonk IPA $4 deal, returning to the taps at NKC’s local bicycle bar, Velo Garage & Tap House

Pint Path is a fun outing to visit 24 NKC businesses along six paths. Participants will head to four stops on one of six possible paths to get discounts on beer, cocktails, food, and more.

North Kansas City’s favorite little diner since 1938. Now serving BLVD & Cinder Block! 🍻

Stops include local shops like the quaint Little Store & Cafe, a mainstay in North Kansas City since 1938 for its all-American menu and setting. Grab a beer and a bite before heading onward.

Pint Path NKC at Cinder Block Brewing
Pint Path NKC returns to Cinder Block Brewery with a mystery release tapping and $2 off their famous year-rounders

Cinder Block Brewery, which just celebrated their sixth anniversary in September, is one of the city’s older breweries with a strong following. They will have $2 off pints and a special beer release for Pint Path NKC. The brewery also donated a growler and free growler fill for the Hashtag Contest. Use #pintpathnkc during the Pint Path event for a chance to win a gift package full of merchandise from local merchants.

The new Jefferson’s NKC is getting in on the spirit with a $1 shot for each crawler, plus beer specials
Have you had a chance to explore Jefferson’s North Kansas City? The restaurant and bar is a newcomer to the neighborhood at the northeast corner of Armour and Swift. Pint Path patrons will find a fun atmosphere and food ranging from the fried pickle burger to a shrimp po’ boy. They offer 75-cent “world-famous” boneless wings on Saturdays. Guests with a Pint Path NKC Passport can purchase $4.50 23-oz drafts, $2.50 bottles, and $1 shots during the event. The deals and fun continues at two-dozen businesses throughout the city.

Pint Path NKC Monster Mural

Stop by a Novelty Photo Op while exploring. The Novelty Photo Ops are six photo “stand ins,” where you put your head in a hole and you’re part of the scene. Locations include Restless Spirits (Ghosties), The Little Store & Cafe (Magical Horse & Unicorn), Big Rip Brewing (Spooky Scene with Pumpkinhead), Colony (The Cheerses, our mascots), Pat’s Pub (Beers), and Callsign Brewing (Red Baron). Keep an eye out for great murals and photo ops around town.

While spending the day in North Kansas City, check out artist Brew Lamb, who will be at The Brewkery, 12-2 PM, for a Meet the Artist event. Lamb painted the mural that’s on the north side of The Brewkery building. Grain to Glass hosts their Annual Cider Day. Customers can press apples in their parking lot. Check out live music at Old Shawnee Pizza at Repeal 18th and at The Rino, the spook easy space Apparition at Screenland Armour, and much more.

All six paths that have four stops each. They are colored orange, green, brown, pink, yellow, and purple. The paths will be revealed on the day of the event. You don’t have to follow any particular path or in any order.

Purchase a Pint Path Passport at Eventbrite. You will get an email with more information about where and when to check in. Organizers will have your physical passport on the day of the event. A few passports will be available for walk up purchase ($10, cash, debit or credit card) on the day of the event.

Passport Stamps
Get your passport stamped at all 24 participating businesses. Each business offers a special or discount on the day of the event. Simply make a purchase at the participating business to qualify for a stamp at each location.

On Sunday, the Pint Path Committee and its volunteers will throw a “Second Chance” Prize Party for those who spaced on their pint glasses before leaving NKC. Come watch the Chiefs, grab some pizza, and get a little hair of the dog from Helen’s extensive list of BLVD taps and fine spirits.

Q) Do I have to ride a bike for this?
A) This is America! You can do what you want!  However, if your competitive side leads you towards wanting to compete for the Grand Prize wooden coaster set made by Mekanika Studio (that makes a map of NKC when put together (...keep an eye on social media for a sneak peak), you will want to be among the FIRST 20 CRAWLERS to complete one of 6 pre-set paths that are spread out across the 1.5 mile stretch of Pint Path.

Q) So can I just pick whatever four stops I want to go to?
A) Your passport entitles you to specials at 24 locations **the day of the event only**. Over a 6 hour window, we've always felt like 4 was the right number of stops to hit, including travel time and socializing.  Hit FOUR stops and you get to take home your commemorative glass.  You will only be eligible for the Grand Prize if you complete one of the 6 pre-set paths however...(no hitting up 4 next-door neighbor businesses in a row-- gotta keep it fair, people....)

Q) I get bad helmet hair. Also my helmet is a toy space helmet.
A) That's not really a question... But we HIGHLY recommend wearing an approved store-bought road cycling helmet to keep your noggin safe.  There is a release on the waiver at check-in if you choose not to.

Q) All these rules are making me ANGRY!  And you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!!
A) Fair enough. However, each establishment reserves the right not to serve you if by their discretion you're exhibiting problem behavior or are intoxicated past their comfort level in continuing to serve you.  Remember, these establishments want your money-- so unless you truly do plan to Hulk out at the bar, get in a fight, sling hateful language, or be off-the-charts obnoxious/destructive in your drunkiness... you're probably okay.  In five years of putting this event on, we haven't seen that yet-- so don't try to make history, yeah?

Q) Will this passport be usable after the day of PInt Path for more goodies??  I really liked the months-long Tap Tour-style of last year. and used it all the time
A) So YOU'RE the one that was doing that!  Honestly, the numbers were so small on people who turned their one-day Pint Path into a third-rate Tap Tour or KC Passport (both of which do amazing jobs at what they do), that we decided to go back to what works.

Q) Got it. 24 stop in one day it is!!
A) We highly recommend not doing this. In fact: use this handy calculator to know how many you need before you've had enough.  Let's all be safe and smart this weekend!!

Q) Wait wait wait.  There's a bunch of photo op stand-ins I've heard about.  What's that about?
A) #PintPathNKC or Snapchat tag "pintpathnkc" on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat and our team will pick the winner for each platform and get you a fabulous basket of prizes from local participating venues!

Q) Okay...I think I actually want to do this. Where do I check in?
A) In order to keep check-in time to a minimum-- those who have pre-purchased will be sent an email in the next 24 hours with their assigned check-in location (either Town Square next to Chappell's or the parking lot outside Brewkery on Swift Street).  Walk-ins are free to sign up at either gate.

Q) Cool.
A) Sweet.

Q) Nice.
A) Noice.

Remember-- if you reserved your spot to buy at EARLY BIRD prices ($7 per ticket) YOU MUST PAY AHEAD by MIDNIGHT TOMORROW (FRIDAY) to get the discount!

Check your inbox today (spam folder and all) for the final call email with links to your discounted purchases. Early bird emails with purchase links have been sent over the last couple months from

If you wait to purchase at the gate, you'll have to pay $10 per person like everyone else (though you will still have your spot reserved until 1PM. Still don't make a purchase until 1PM? Your place in line to purchase passports will be released to
walk-up buyers).
Pre-purchase tickets still available!!
50 passports left as of 1:45pm on Thursday afternoon (10/10).
