Art Scholars' Exhibition
The Art Exhibition will be in the Talbot Room and open for viewing until the end of term.

School Fête
We are looking forward to our annual fete on Saturday 15 June. This year the theme for the opening ceremony is A Celebration of a Great British Summer of Sport, in light of the world cups in netball, cricket, women's football and rugby. We ask that pupils come to school wearing a top in their Element colour.

All pupils should be in school to register with their teacher/tutor at 9.00am and the opening ceremony will be at 9.30am. Refreshments for parents will be available from 8.45am.

Inclement weather:
It is a requirement of the school uniform that all children have a coat or waterproof jacket in school in case the  weather is wet (as children need to walk around the site for lunch, games, music etc.). If your child has a gilet please can you ensure they also have their school waterproof or school coat in school at all times.

Holiday Courses

Please note that the booking forms are available online for Holmwood Active Holidays and also our Summer Art School and Sports courses.

You can find the online booking forms here.

Summer term events
We're looking forward to seeing you at the following event this term. As well as being social events, these mornings are important fundraisers for Friends of Holmwood House (FOHH). The money raised at the sports days and fête goes towards paying for the School's Birthday fireworks display, is used to enhance the children's play and learning environments, and to provide extra sporting equipment and one-off experiences, like the fantastic Planetarium the children recently experienced during Space Week.

We will have a bank card reader at all events and it would be much appreciated if you could bring small denomination cash or coins rather than large bank notes.

Friday 14 June - Pre-Prep Sports Day
FOHH will be selling coffee, tea, pastries, water, soft drinks, Pimm's, wine and lager.
Refreshments will be available all morning and throughout lunch.
There will also be a second hand uniform rail, a great opportunity to stock up for next term.
Raffle tickets for the summer raffle will also be on sale.

Saturday 15 June - Summer Fête - 9.30am (opening ceremony) - 12noon
Year reps will have been in touch with you regarding volunteers for your year group stall. Every year we struggle to get enough volunteers. If you haven't already volunteered, please, please, please do: we would really appreciate it, we really can't run the fête without sufficient help.

FOHH will be selling tea, coffee and bacon baps from 8.45am. BBQ with hot dogs, burgers and chips, water, soft drinks, lager, Pimm's, doughnuts, sweets and strawberries & cream.

We will be taking orders for Element Hoodies and T-shirts.

There will be some exciting new attractions and fun stalls for all ages.

Summer Raffle prizes include: A bluetooth speaker, Glow in the Dark diablo, £25 amazon voucher, One day's use of an Osea Leisure beach hut on stilts (kindly donated by the Robinson family), One night's stay for 4 at the Osea Meadows tree house (kindly donated by the Robinson family) and One night's stay for 4 in an Osea Meadows bell tent (kindly donated by the Robinson family).
The winning tickets will be drawn at the end of the fête.

We would be extremely grateful for donations of the following:

Teddies and Toys – in good, clean, working order please, these can be left at the front office or given to a committee member
Tombola prizes – bottles, cans or jars, please ensure within their use-by date, these can be left at the front office or given to a committee member
Jam Jar Tombola prizes – after the roaring success of last year’s Jam Jar Tombola Wilkin of Tiptree have again kindly supplied jam jars with lids which you will find in the lobby outside the front office, we would be grateful if every family would fill a jar with a prize (be as creative as you like!). Please feel free to fill as many as you like, and by all means use your own recycled jam jars
Cakes for the hugely popular Cake Stall – please ensure these are nut-free and provide a short list of ingredients; they may be bought in at the start of the fete, or left at the front office on Friday if non-perishable and provided Fi, Jane and the Shadows promise not to eat them.

Saturday 22 June – Prep Sports Day
FOHH will be selling coffee, tea, BBQ with hot dogs and burgers, water, soft drinks, Pimm’s, wine and lager, strawberries and cream. There will also be a second hand uniform rail, a great opportunity to stock up for next term

Current FOHH committee members:
Charlotte Cottrell, Noha Coker, Penny Grout, Paula Swaine, Tessa Bartlett, Annabel Came, Catherine Anley, Sophie Bardrick, Hattie Romer-Lee, Petra Byatt, Mrs Bradbury, Fi at the front office

SECONDHAND UNIFORM SHOP
A reminder that the secondhand uniform shop (located on the path between the Music School and the staff car park) is open every Thursday morning between 8am and 9am. We have a good stock of items at a fraction of the price of new, and every purchase helps support FOHH.
