This Sunday: litter pick, service, and AGM

Whether you join us at our 10.30am community partnership litterpick (working with Sustainable Northstowe and Northstowe Town Council), our 3.30pm Emmaus Road themed afternoon gathering (led by our ordinands, Dan and Pete), or can only slip in in time for our AGM (starting straight after the service at 4.30pm), we can’t wait to be praying, exploring, and sharing with you.

If you are on the electoral roll, you will have received all the AGM details directly - please send apologies if you can’t be with us.. While only those on the electoral roll can vote: we’d love anyone to come and ask questions and join us celebrating where we have encountered God in four dimensions this last year - UP, IN, OUT and OF

Download the AGM report on our website, or from 2021 Annual Report for Pathfinder Church Northstowe.pdf

NOTE - please read this in advance; only questions will be taken on the day.

Download the AGM paperwork to read in advance

SAVE THE DATE: Sunday June 12th

Join the team supporting Over Day Centre in the morning

Elaine writes:

On the morning of Sunday 12 June, we are hoping to send out a team of budding cyclists from Pathfinder Church Northstowe to raise money for Over Day Centre, This year there are two rides leaving from Northstowe Community Wing. The 14 mile Family & Casual ride has a check in time of 9.30am. If you would prefer the shorter 7.5 mile Family & Casual ride, check in begins at 10.30am. It would be wonderful to have a range of people supporting this local event from church. I am even trying to get us a team t-shirt sorted for the occasion. More information can be found here:

Do talk to her to find out more! (hit reply and we can put you in touch)

And then join our Big Questions Afternoon Tea at 3.30pm

This will be the final Sunday that our fantastic ordinands, Dan and Pete, are with us. They’ve become such a part of the community, we can hardly imagine life without them. They want to thank all of YOU for the many gifts you’ve shared with them; so many experiences and ideas they’ve been able to take back and reflect on as part of their studies.

And they want to give back. So, from this Sunday, there will be a BIG QUESTIONS box out in church. Do ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask.. and together they will respond, drawing on their theological training.

Celebrating and praying for the Baby & Toddler Group

Do keep praying for our new midweek baby group. We’re exploring what this might look like if it continued to run after half term, with a wider age range. Come and talk to Beth, Becky, Hannah, or Ellie to find out more. We’re currently thinking of keeping the Thursday morning slot - but do talk to us. Who else might you want to get involved? No expectation that participants have a Christian faith, or know all the answers (who does!). Instead, this will be a great opportunity to explore spirituality both for children and adults, telling bible stories and singing together… and.. .what else? Let us know!

Then we’ll come up with a name!

Volunteer Opportunities

Our friends at Pioneer Cafe and The Northstowe Youth Hive are looking for volunteers! The biggest need is a few more people to work in the cafe during Wednesday afternoon sessions. Have a chat with Beth, Pete, or Peter to find out what this involves.

And, if you know young people from any faith, culture, gender, sexuality, or background, do encourage them to head down to The Wing after school and join the drop in for fun and opportunities to make a difference. Next week, they are talking about Plastic Free Pledges, asking how they can help make Ukrainian refugees welcome, and working on grant applications to fund some exciting youth opportunities this summer. And, of course enjoying milkshakes, brownies, free squash, and interactive Just Dance and Xbox Adventures!

And finally: WOW WHAT A DAY!

Thank you to everyone involved in Northstowe Day. How many familiar faces can you spot?
