$397 million WestInvest wish list revealed

Penrith City Council is calling for additional funding to realise aspirational projects that will create a more connected, liveable and walkable community.

Council has submitted a list of 37 projects worth $397 million to be considered for the $2 billion available to 15 councils and communities under the NSW Government’s $5 billion WestInvest program.

The list includes an Indoor Multi-Sports Stadium at Claremont Meadows ($106 million), a City Park and Entertainment Precinct for St Marys ($21 million) and the Weir Reserve Rowing and Paddle Sports Precinct ($34.7 million).

The projects put forward are grounded in identified Council strategies, developed through extensive consultation with community members and designed to meet the City’s long-term needs and goals. To see the list click through on the link below

Emu Heights Dog Park was recently upgraded with fenced off-leash areas for small and large dogs, play equipment, waste bag fixtures, dog-friendly water bubblers, bench seating and shady trees.

If you’re looking for something fun to do outdoors as the weather warms up, we think you’re going to love volunteering for a Bushcare Group work session! The Bass Sydney Fishing Club Bushcare Group is meeting at Emu Green Reserve on Saturday 3 September from 8.30am-12pm to do some site care at the reserve. STEM project encourages young people to think outside the box

Students from 12 local high schools are currently participating in this years STEM project, a partnership program between Council and the CSIRO, Australia's national science agency.. The program connects Year 9 and 10 students with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) industry professionals as they tackle inquiry-based projects and develop solutions for real-world challenges.
