Go the Penrith Panthers

Tonight the Penrith Panthers will take on cross-city rivals the Parramatta Eels in week one of the NRL Final series.

After finishing on top of the competition and being awarded the J.J. Giltinan Shield for being Minor Premiers, the Panthers have earnt a home semi-final at Penrith Stadium in front of their fans, which is a sell-out.

A win tonight will get the Panthers a week off before playing again in the Grand Final Qualifier in a fortnight, while a loss will see them back up next week to continue their push to become this year's Premiers.

Penrith City Council wishes the Penrith Panthers well tonight against the Eels - Go Panthers!
To view the match, the game will be broadcast live on Channel 9 and FoxSports with coverage starting from 7pm (check local guides).

Vale: Queen Elizabeth II

Australia mourns the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second.
As a mark of mourning and respect, the Australian National Flag has been lowered to half-mast at the Civic Centre and St Marys Corner flag poles until further notice.

Penrith Heritage Trail Walk

Spring has finally sprung, and it’s the perfect time to take the Penrith Heritage Walk! The free, self-guided walk invites you to step into our City’s rich past and discover, at your own pace, the people, places and open spaces that have helped shape Penrith.

Starting at historic Penrith Train Station, the 11-kilometre trail leads you to 22 points of interest through Thornton and along the river to its end point at the state significant Emu Plains Train Station.

This project received grant funding from the Australian Government.

Thank you: Trees for Dad

We had a fantastic time on Father’s Day planting trees as part of our fourth Trees for Dad event. Although we had some gloomy weather and rain, that didn’t stop 150 people from joining our Bushcare team and planting 200 plants at Corio Drive Reserve in St Clair.

We would encourage participants to return to Corio Drive Reserve to see how their trees are growing. These trees will help provide habitat and shelter for local wildlife and cool the neighbouring community with additional shade.
