Hi Friend,

It's another Bank Holiday weekend with lots to enjoy at The Swan:
  • Mini Market
  • BBQ Brunch
  • Cycle Ride
  • Games galore
Plenty of reasons to come and enjoy all that is on offer.

The Swan is open from 11:00 on Saturdays so why not pop in for coffee, or something stronger? This Bank Holiday weekend we will be open until 10pm on Sunday. More time, and more reasons, to enjoy all that The Swan has to offer.

The sun is forecast to shine on another packed Courtyard at The Swan with a variety of stalls offering fresh produce, cheese, craft fare and much more. Our valiant BBQ team will be at work again offering a tasty brunch selection including burgers, sausages, vegan and kids options. Sun 29 Aug from 12-3pm. Shop, eat and drink in the unique environment that is The Swan.

From this Saturday the WCH bike kitchen will be an hour earlier. Bring your bike down to The Swan between 11-12pm for a free check over and fix-up! Coffee and snacks available while you wait! There will be a 'Gentle Explorer' Ride taken by Nicky, setting off at 11:30am!
Contact or go to our WCH page for more details.

The Cribbage club were pleased to welcome new members, Steve and Hazel, on Tue evening. Why not  come and join in with the chance to either learn or improve your skill at this fascinating game. This is an informal group that meets at 7pm each Tue at The Swan with a view to playing on a regular basis. You don't need to know, the experienced players will be explaining all the rules and helping novices through the whole process.

Dublicious are offering an exciting Malaysian selection for collection from The Swan on Fri 3 Sep. Choose between Malaysian beef rendang, Quorn and mixed stir fry vegetables or King Prawn Laksa. All served with coconut rice, watercress with sambal & belacan, a green mango & chilli salad and wholemeal flatbread. Order here for collection 6-6:30pm on Friday.

Wednesday evening saw a great turn out for our latest Swan Quiz possibly attracted by a cash prize. Despite the increased competition worthy winners, again, were Hetties Heroes who very generously donated much of their prize to Windsor Homeless Project. Your next chance to win is on Wed 8 Sep.To avoid disappointment please book a table by emailing

Rachel, who reads stories on our YouTube channel has now started writing stories about 'The Swanbles' - Little People who live behind mini-doors around The Swan and who are rarely seen by Big People. Rachel Reads is bringing them to life especially for our young cygnets to enjoy. The first story, 'Mrs Swanble's Busy Day'. will be available soon. The aim is to produce 'Swan Stories' as booklets for sale only at The Swan. Watch out for more updates.

Simon Russell, our local games inventor, is hosting an evening of exciting board games. Some you will be familiar with, some which will be totally new. He will help setting games up and getting you going. Also with any questions you may have during the game. Feedback is also welcomed. Why not come down, meet some new people and try a game over a pint? Everybody welcome, all ages, no need to book a place. Mon 6 Sep at 7pm.

You have been warned! Sun 19 Sep is International Act Like A Pirate Day and The Swan will be ensuring that this overlooked day is celebrated in style. Put the date in your diary and watch for further details as the date approaches.

The Weekday Warriors have excelled themselves this week with a lot of activity and a lot of progress. As soon as the long awaited final joist been fixed into The Kitchen ceiling the messy job of replacing the fibreglass insulation began. Acoustic insulation has also been fitted into the stairwell leading to the School House and the walls were boarded ready for plastering. Not ignoring the outside area the final cable reel table has had a smart new top installed.
How many Warriors does it take to get a single cable across The Courtyard without digging  a trench?  Fortunately with welcome foresight the team had left a tube in place complete with a simple rope pull through. Three Warriors, a rope and little bit of tug of war saw the task complete in minutes!
