We the People 2.0 speaks to the work communities all across the nation are doing to improve their lives by challenging the corporate state, and working together to save nature and thereby, themselves.

This film is a good introduction to the upcoming Democracy School coming in September, led by the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (, in September.
The film is free, though donations are graciously accepted.  We'll have a "snacks potluck" and definitely hope to see you there!  (click on the image to view film trailer)

Tom Doty and the stewards at North Kitsap Heritage Park need the public's support of their plan for natural resource protection and recreational use of this park. The stewardship plan clearly prioritizes conservation and nature, and KEC has been included as a "stakeholder". Tom outlined the reasons for supporting the stewards plan at our last general meeting. The stewards do not want the Sound to Olympics (STO) Trails to cut through the middle of NKHP; A retention pond to store "purple pipe water" for use on the Whitehorse Golf Course is slated to be built within the park. There is conflict with the North Kitsap Trails Association who claim the the STO was part of the reason that this heritage park was created. If the Stewards' plan is adopted, the park would be protected from the STO and the retention pond.  A draft of the plan is open for public comment through Sept. 26th.  You can read the plan here.  We urge you to take the time to read and comment.
