As we adapt to a new phase of new normal, Tangent continues to exemplify leadership in innovation and entrepreneurship. Since returning to our Zoom workstations after a restful Christmas Break, our events and recruitment campaigns have truly hit the ground running.

We've held a ministerial launch for the Alsessor AI Accelerator, successfully closed out applications for two new SpringBoard+ programmes with record engagement and seen all-time high engagement on our social media channels (read on below to learn more!).

The road out of this crisis may still seem uncertain, but Tangent will continue to rise to the occassion!

Remember to stay connected!

Industry Engagement Event

We live in a knowledge-based economy, where routine activities are increasingly automated or outsourced, a society facing global challenges for which appropriate solutions have yet to be found. New skills and behaviours are needed that stimulate and support sustainable employment and lifelong learning.

Towards bridging this gap, Tangent, Trinity’ Ideas Workspace convened a workshop on Wednesday 20th January 2021, with invited guests from our Industry Consultation Group and colleagues from across Trinity College Dublin.

This dynamic workshop was attended by 38 invited participants from diverse sectors, bringing together thought leaders from industry, joined by representatives from across a Trinity College Dublin.

The workshop was facilitated by Aine Phelan, Head of Engagement, Tangent, Trinity’s Ideas Workspace in collaboration with members of the Tangent team. Read on below to learn how the session informed our HCI-funded activities!

HCI Initiative
The Human Capital Initiative (HCI) will deliver an investment targeted towards increasing capacity in higher education in skills-focused programmes designed to meet priority skills needs. Trinity were funded for 21m under HCI and Tangent will deliver a portion of these activities.

A comprehensive industry engagement framework is in development through which Tangent will ensure that all activities are informed by or in some instances co-designed with industry. Tangent are planning increased provision in undergraduate, postgraduate and professional level courses. A number of targeted accelerator programmes are also in development. Through these activities, we will future proof graduates by embedding transversal skills in our curriculum design. Under HCI, Tangent will continue to support innovation in higher education provision building on best practice available nationally and internationally. For more information, click here.
